Rainscapes is a collection of fully on-chain artworks of generative rain. The rain unfolds through the continuous block production of Optimism blockchain, creating the ambience of rain in a variety of natural settings. The artworks collectively observe the atmosphere of a world that is - at the same time - alien, and very much like ours.
Runtime for the generative rain is the blockchain itself with only Solidity being used for generating the images. As Optimism blockchain produces a new block every two seconds, a new drop of rain is produced to each of the tokens. The playback function is provided on top of the EVM runtime for convenience and for observing the ambience of the rain, generated from the latest blocks.
