Marisol Catchings is a San Francisco Bay Area native of Chicana and Black heritage. She is a self-taught artist, writer, and entrepreneur. Marisol is the owner and designer of Azteca Negra and co-founder of Just Be. She has been blessed to come from a long line of beautiful, multifaceted women artisans, and use my firmly rooted ancestral identity to design pieces that merge culture, modern art, geometric principles and traditional textiles. Many of her pieces are created using textiles from Mexico and various African countries, as well as upcycled leather and natural beads. All of these beautiful pieces are Marisol's original designs and handcrafted with love.
