3. Know the goal
- ✦Build 4 foundation piles
- ✦Each pile holds one suit only
- ✦Every foundation starts with an Ace
- ✦Win by moving all 52 cards to the foundations
4. Move cards in the tableau
- ✦Build downward by rank
- ✦Alternate colors: red on black or black on red
- ✦You can move one card or a whole valid stack
- ✦Example: 8 of clubs can go on 9 of hearts
Example:
8♣ can go on 9♥
You can move a whole valid stack together.
5. Reveal cards and use empty spaces
- ◆When you uncover a facedown card, flip it up
- ◆Revealing hidden cards creates new options
- ◆Only a King can move into an empty tableau column
- ◆A stack starting with a King can also fill the space

- ✦Move an Ace to start a foundation
- ✦Add the next higher card of the same suit
- ✦Example: A♥, 2♥, 3♥, 4♥
