Deep in the Southern Alps of New Zealand, at the heart of Fiordland National Park, hails one of the most stunning scenes on Planet Earth.
There is a small glacier-fed lake crested on top of the peaks with a waterfall cascading down the mountainside. Never in my life have I seen anything quite like this, nor do I believe this is a common sight around the world.
To discover this place, I flew in a small airplane from Queenstown to Milford Sound. When we passed this view, I felt a rush of excitement and knew for a fact that I needed to photograph this wonder. Instantly, I asked the pilot if he could do a "fly by" so that I could fully take in the otherworldly scene.
The pilot spun the plane around and I prepared myself to compose a beautiful image looking out of the small window. As I pressed the shutter, I knew that I had just snapped one of my most unique photos of my photography career.
