The 1988 vintage has become one of the most sought-after vintages of Hermitage La Chapelle. An early spring / budburst led to a wonderful summer season, which was followed by a harvest marked by rich and ripe grapes with firm tannins. The wines are full-bodied and tannic, though after 35+ years, have beautifully settled into themselves.
