When I get especially activated with some emotion — whether it's fear, excitement, worry, or something else — there's always a period of slowing down again. I call these the slowing steps. Emotions often make me feel like a full stop after a sprint and my body needs a second to process it. I've learned that nothing will make that process move faster other than time and breathing.
