How to Play Gin Rummy
Play Gin Rummy Online Free
Play classic Gin Rummy head-to-head against Dusty. Draw from the stock or discard pile, shape your hand into runs and sets, and knock when your deadwood is low - or hold out for gin. First to 100 points takes the match.
Draw one card each turn, from the face-up discard pile or the face-down stock.
Build melds: three or four of a kind, or runs of three or more in one suit. Aces are low.
Discard your least useful card. Unmelded cards are deadwood, counting face value.
Knock when your deadwood is 10 or less, or go gin with zero for a 25-point bonus.
When can I knock in Gin Rummy?
After drawing, you can knock if discarding leaves 10 or fewer points of deadwood. Rodeyo checks your best possible melds automatically and enables the knock button when you qualify.
What is the difference between gin and big gin?
Gin means all ten cards in your hand are melded after your discard, worth a 25-point bonus. Big gin means all eleven cards are melded before discarding, worth 31 points. Neither can be undercut or laid off against.
What is an undercut?
If you knock and your opponent's deadwood, after laying off cards on your melds, is equal to or lower than yours, they undercut you and score the difference plus a 25-point bonus.
