How to Play Minesweeper

TL;DR – The objective is to clear all non-mine squares without detonating a mine.

For a detailed walkthrough, check out this video by @TripleSGames

Here’s how the game works:

  • Pick a Difficulty:Every level uses a 12 x 12 board. Higher difficulties increase the percentage of squares that contain mines.
  • Revealing Squares:Left-click on a square to reveal it. If it’s a mine, game over!
  • Flag Suspected Mines:Right-click on a square to mark it as a potential mine. This helps you keep track of danger zones.
  • Number Clues:Revealed squares show a digit (0 to 8) indicating how many of the adjacent squares contain mines.
  • Automatic Reveals:If you uncover a "0," it automatically reveals all neighboring squares until numbers appear.
  • Win by Clearing/Flagging:You win if you safely reveal all non-mine squares or correctly flag all mines.
Tip: Use logical deduction. For example, if a “1” is touching only one covered square, that square must be a mine!
