This fungus, also known as Lingzhi, meaning 'divine woody mushroom', is considered the fungus of immortality. Ancient Chinese reports describe it as increasing longevity, sharpening the wits, and increasing qi energy in the heart. Modern scientific analysis has shown that Reishi contains a whole host of phytochemicals, including triterpenes, which have a molecular structure similar to steroidal hormones. In immature form it grows in an antler shape, while in mature forms it develops a thick fan-like shape, often compared to coral, with shining yellow to red color gradients. Truly divine!
