The Marfa Desert Art Generator was a project I created for an interactive experience at the 2024 Artblocks Week in Marfa,Tx.
Using MS Paint for the geometrics, FFMPEG to convert to svgs and replit I was able to create a real time svg generator of desert inspired art. The model was trained on Marfa, Tx. Big Bend State Park and the splatter art of Ralph Steadman.
The special features are the the famous desert Prada store, a "rainbow thing" (NOT A SQUIGGLE OK SNOWFRO LEGAL TEAM) and one of Donald Judd's famous silo buildings, Donald was an artist whom in 1971 moved to Marfa, Texas. Judd bought 16 decaying buildings, an entire decommissioned Army base, and three ranches spread across 40,000 acres and was a pioneer of minimalist architecture and art which was a big inspiration for it becoming the art colony it is today.
