Fear of horses. From the Latin “equinus” (horse).
Those who coexist with this phobia experience great anxiety when riding a horse or simply at the mere sight of it. A bad fall or an episode experienced in the third person can be the main causes, as the risks of a fall themselves can be serious.
The introduction of horses to Native American cultures had a significant impact, and initially, many of them exhibited distrusts or fear of these animals. Before the arrival of horses in the Americas with the Europeans in the 16th century, Indigenous peoples were unfamiliar with such large and powerful animals, which led to initial fear and uncertainty. At first, they were seen as mysterious and frightening creatures. Some tribes viewed the horse as a sort of supernatural being associated with foreign invaders. This led to fears not only of the animal itself but also of the cultural and military implications it represented.
A curiosity: both protagonists of the Twilight saga, Kirsten Stewart and Robert Pattinson, are equinophobes, and this issue is also mentioned in the Yellowstone series through the character Beth Dutton.
But, more interesting, something about rapper and web3 pillar Snoop Dogg. On the Sept. 12 episode of Snoop Dogg's YouTube news network series Double G News,he admitted his equinophobia saying: "I'm just f---ing scared of them."
