Lizzy and I wrote Idols in my studio in LA. We started the song on my piano and the lyrics came pretty quickly. For me the song is about false Idols, or people who claim to have all the answers (which I think is impossible). I'm a relatively existential person, and we were definitely tapping into those feelings the day we wrote this song. I don't want to go into too much detail because I want people to be able to find their own meaning in the song.
