It's been discovered that fungal spores survive in the vacuum of space and can withstand interplanetary travel. So, the Panspermia hypothesis states that life on Earth could have been brought by a comet carrying spores, originating from a far away planet.
Today, fungi plays a key role in the symbiosis of life, and has been the source of inspiration for the discovery of DNA's double helix, among other crucial discoveries.
Mushrooms can reveal to us many answers about the mysteries of life and our place in the Universe. Maybe its ultimate goal is to guide us back to its planet of origin, doing so by helping life thrive on Earth and inspiring humans to evolve and explore beyond our planet.
