It is a sacred site that has been certified a World Heritage Site. The Milky Way shines over the largest "torii" in Japan. "torii" is a symbol of the place where God lives and is a favorite subject of landscape photography in Japan. I went there to take this photo while the cherry trees were in bloom. The torii, the cherry trees and the Milky Way created a created a wonderful scene.
