Howard the Haphazard never had much direction in his life. As a child, he was always darting off to do something else before he could finish what he started. His parents gave up on him ever completing anything and stopped supporting his hobbies. Howard turned to painting as an escape from his mundane life. He told himself that one day he would finish a painting and become famous for it.
But years passed and Howard still hadn't finished a painting. He would start with great enthusiasm, but eventually lose interest and move on to something else. This pattern continued throughout his life, resulting in an apartment full of half-finished paintings. Howard continued to believe that one day he would find the perfect subject and finally complete a painting, but deep down he knew it was unlikely to happen.
