Cronos was once a chieftain's advisor on Gataria who strongly opposed bonding with nature and the giants fearing they could be turned against them. Exiled through a portal to the realm of Valendor for his extreme views he crafted a demimask to control a giant from that world aiming to prove it was both possible and dangerous. The mask however corrupted him and drove him to use the giant for destruction - ironically fulfilling his own prophecy that the giants will turn evil one day.
