It is a gift, what this space offers, it is a slice of joy. Everyday, someone gets to have a cut, and often, this slice changes the life of the person completely. Often, this slice saves the life of a person. For each kindness we show to someone, we receive in folds. And I have learnt that the most genuine kind of kindness is the one without expectations.
This work represents how generous this space has been to us, how strangers stretch their hands to pull us up, how the little laughters and encouragements keep us going, and how it feels like an eternal slice of joy has been offered to us to bask in.
P.S. Whomever gets this piece also gets the physical outfit. The fabric used in making the outfit is called Akwete (which began to exist in the mid nineteenth century in the eastern part of Nigeria). It was woven using a loom.
