This image is taken on Gígjökull, one of the outlets of Eyjafjallajökull.
In 2010 when Eyjafjallajökull erupted the crater of this eruption was near to Gígjökull. This caused floodwater to surge from under the glacier’s tongue making it lose a lot of its mass.
Today this glacier is almost gone entirely.
