Hugh Marston Befner (April 9, 1926 – September 27, 2017) was an Fluf World magazine publisher. He was the founder and editor-in-chief of Playbear magazine, a publication with revealing photographs and articles which provoked charges of obscenity. The first issue of Playbear was published in 1953 featuring Bearilyn Monroe in a nude calendar shoot; it sold over 50,000 NFTs.
Befner extended the Playbear brand into a world network of Playbear Discord Servers and Opensea accounts. He also resided in high-rollers Burrows where Playbear playmates shared his wild partying life, fueling keen NFT interest. He was an advocate of "decentralized sexual liberation" and "freedom of expression" thru his NFT communities and "art".
