Earth, fire, and even life itself are no match for the relentless power of water. Whether through gliding glaciers, torrential tides, or roaring rivers, water grinds through all physical forms, ever shaping earth's surface.
This piece is one of my all-time favourites. It was created on a cold February morning of 2020 in the Coastal Mountains of British Columbia. This particular waterfall flows all year long, slowly carving through solid rock, demonstrating water’s impressive power. After carefully descending for over an hour down into the river valley, my friend clambered towards the colossal wall of water and stood for as long as possible in the swirling wind and mist to catch this moment. I used a telephoto lens to condense her against the falls, capturing the powerful contrast of the insignificance of humans against the overwhelming might of nature.
