By all other counts, Bruges in Belgium is a bustling town with people walking everywhere you turn. Beer, chocolate, waffles - name it and there's a shop dedicated to it. There are also canals running through it, earning it the name of the "Venice of the North."
I only found this scene when I turned down some side streets, deliberately getting lost so I could explore Bruges' various nooks and crannies. Walked across a bridge and lo and behold, a beautiful swan navigating the canal superhighway.
