Sometimes you get more than what you asked for. This night was an exception. I was waiting for the Aurora to pop up; however, the weather and forecast didn't look good. Tired of waiting on the couch, I decided to take a leap of faith. It was a cold -30 deg day, so I wrapped myself as much as possible. As I drove on the highway, I started to see this tower-like effect of lights. Could it be? This was the third time I had experienced the light pillar. I looked for many spots but only found Lake Vermillion with a clear sky. As I walked out of the car, walking past the bushes, I saw these beautiful pillars towering above the town of Banff.
