Shot in the early morning during a visit to Yangshuo, China, in the early days of my exploration into photography, this peaceful scene feels almost apocalyptic as the rising Sun is diffused by a heavy backdrop of smog. Air quality is such a problem in China that photography can be a real challenge as famous scenes can easily be completely obscured from view.
