A small party was held in the school building to celebrate the completion of the build of a new bakery, and all the local families joined.
The late afternoon sun was filtering through the gaps in the roof, creating shafts of light – this one caught my eye as it fell on this young girl's face. I turned to face her, and she looked straight at me for just a moment.
Wearing her best dress, a handbag on her arm, and holding her drink - it is her honest, haunting look that has stuck with me to this day.
