"The whole piece is about contrasting sides. On one hand, you have an angel presumably crying, while on the other, a devil is watching over her. The angel is lamenting, expressing grief, and in doing so, turns the desert into an ocean, creating a striking contrast. Meanwhile, the devil is waltzing across the night sky, dancing, and seemingly caring for her.
The idea is essentially that opposite sides always exist, but within each side, they have their own opposites. In other words, the 'bad' side has its own good and bad components."
