This is one of the biggest sand dunes in the world, and Bel was absolutely rocking up this thing. We had about eight of us decide to walk up together. But we were going way too slow, so she just walked on ahead. It was amazing, actually... it reminded me of that scene in Lord of the Rings when Legolas was walking up on top of the snow when the rest of the Fellowship was trudging through it.
By the time I got to the top, I actually thought I was about to die. It seriously was not the easiest thing I ever did. I was also carrying all my lenses and a drone, which didn't make things any simpler. After I got to the top to relax, we did a little yoga and then I got out the drone for a flight... It was so beautiful. And then the supa-fun part came.
There is a sheer face of the mountain that is so steep you can't even walk up it or down it. The only choice is to run full speed. you can be 100% as reckless as you want to be and you'll be perfectly fine if you slip. So we all let loose and decided to race down the side. It was wild and childlike and free. And yes, when I got to the bottom, I was exhausted once again.
