First Generation - Scream Bear NFT (3/5)
/////
Crypto Jerry's is pleased to announce the release of the first generation Scream Bear NFTs. Each generation will include 5 Rarible erc721 unique Scream Bear tokens. Once all tokens are sold from a generation, a new generation will be released.
The Scream Bear was created in 2013 by artist Whitney Lasker. Many trace the beginning of the Gen Y dead craze back to this one image– a fusing of the two generations. The original design used the yellow "standing" bear from the Grateful Dead's Five "Dancing Bears," or as creator Bob Thomas would say, "Marching Bears." The "Dancing Bear" heads have been hacked many times before on a wide array of bootleg merch typically sold outside of Grateful Dead shows on Shakedown Street. In Lasker's take on the bear, he has cleverly woven the mask from the movie "Scream" into the Bear's face. Lasker jokes, "it actually wasn't my idea." Alas the Scream Bear was born.
One hundred Scream Bear stickers were made in 2013 and passed around in LA, then in 2015 a small batch of shirts were printed and sold. The shirts were first sold on February 1st, 2015 at Paramount Ranch Art Fair, then in various locations around LA out of the trunk of Lasker's car. The shirts went on sale again on June 27th, 2015 on Shakedown Street at Levi Stadium– the first night of the Fare Thee Well Tour in Santa Clara, CA. And again on August 2, 2015, outside of the Michael Jordan of Mushrooms + Dick Pics show at 356 Mission. There was one final sale of the shirts at Rob Pruitt's Flea Market, on February 12th, 2016 in DTLA. The Scream Bear has never again been in circulation...until now.
