The term pororoca is derived from Tupi, it means "bang", it corresponds to the meeting of the waters of the river with the waters of the sea, it is the meeting of Oxum with Iemanjá, where the waters greet each other. This phenomenon is more evident in the changes in the phase of the moon, especially in the full and new moon, its strength is such that it can cause waves up to ten meters wide and five meters high.
