Are You Fearless 01: The Life of a Hacker
The back alley streets of the city were unforgiving. This one wasn't your typical space filled with the casual homeless man hardout for work. This was where you went you wanted to get away from life, from yourself. Everyone here knew me too but not in the beginning, the rich high fliers of the club scene didn't bother themselves with life between the city streets but they sure did fancy themselves apart of it.
My first walk down the alley started as a dare I gave myself, "Are you fearless?" I questioned in my mind. Then on the drop of a dime I turned onto the street, a street so small it had no formal name. It was just known as 'Devil's Row' to high rollers of the club scene, and to the everyday lay person, they called it 'Hell's Pass'.
Briskly, I walked down the alley between the two buildings. There was little to light my way and creatures of the night lining the walls. Little did I know that I would one day become one of those creatures.
Walking quickly I passed a man boxing with his shadow, I think he was losing the fight. Further up I could see Flaco, but I only knew him as 'The Man on Building' at this time in my stay in the city.
Eyes darted to me as I walked passed. They knew I didn't belong but it appeared as though they didn't want any trouble with me. They most likely thought I had business with 'The Man', and no one messed with 'The Man's' business. Walking passed him I could feel his gaze on my back as my hairs stood on edge. I didn't dare turn back to meet his cold dark eyes.
This time and unfortunately only this time, I kept walking on.
