This is the genesis piece in my Lab Notebook collection - an artistic play on the chronology of my time in science up to now.
The original image was taken by me during my doctoral studies using electron microscopy. The purpose was to determine if mitochondrial density and morpholgy was impacted in liver cells with due to different treatment paradigms. Liver cells are notoriously dense with mitochondria - something highlighted well in this image!
Check out more about the mitochondria and how it works here - https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK9896/.
*All images presented in the Lab Notebook collection were taken and edited by myself or close colleagues. Nothing within the series has been published.
