Jo started making spirit boards as she began her residency in a haunted apartment building in Brooklyn, New York, during the 2020 Coronavirus Lockdown. This spirit board would become the first in a series of works that Jo made to calm herself during the lockdown, while paying homage to the supernatural presences in her immediate environment during that tumultuous time.
