Black - the result of the absence or complete absorption of visible light.
Pixel - a basic logical unit in digital graphics.
This black pixel is handcrafted byte by byte in order to provide a minimal valid single-pixel image file, having a size of only 35 bytes.
Data is stored within 1x1 dimension GIF file. GIF format is selected on purpose, since it's the most compact among universally supported image formats of our time, having headers with the smallest footprint, enabling us to store single pixel color data in its minimal form and still have it compatible with any image viewing software.
