This painting was the a bit experimental for me since I used a different pallet. Normally I paint with Titanium White, Naples Yellow, Cadmium Yellow Light, Cadmium Red Light, Alizarin Crimson, Ultramarine Blue, Phthalo Blue, Raw Umber, Burnt Umber, and Lamp Black. The pallet I used for this painting was Titanium White, Yellow Ocher Pale, Cadmium Yellow, Cadmium Red, Alizarin Crimson, French Ultramarine Blue, Prussian Blue, Burnt Sienna, Burnt Umber, Lamp Black.
This is one of my first paintings that I made while at Ani Art Academy. In the image, my friend, John, posed with the city of Wilkes-Barre, PA in the background. I named it proving grounds since it was my first painting using a different pallet than what would normally use. I put in as much effort as I could into the piece and at the end I included the lines flowing off him. Some type of energy flowing off the fighter.
