The owner of this NFT will be granted full copyrights to VAIL, an eleven-page screenplay for a short horror film, based on the short story “Mrs Vail” by Kim Newman.
‘In VAIL, Lisa travels to see her friend Louise, but is greeted by Louise’s boyfriend Martin, who admits he’s killed his girlfriend – which is strange, as she's standing directly behind him. He’s not joking either – he believes what he’s saying. Has Martin gone mad, or has he really killed somebody? VAIL plays on the psyche, dealing in themes of manipulation, insanity and murder.’

The ultimate aim is to encourage others to do the same as is being done here, and sell the rights to their works on their terms, in a move towards fairer business practices within the creative industries. I believe NFTs can aid the creative industries in incredible ways and could provide artists great freedom, fairness and control over their arts. Let’s connect publishers, film makers and record labels directly to authors, screenwriters and musicians, with terms of sales and copyright being dictated by the artists.
No need for agents or middle-men. No draconian record deals where the record label has complete control of not only the music musicians can produce, but at times the musicians themselves. Just one album made by the artist, put up for sale, with a few legal rules laid out for collecting royalties. And that’s it. Stuff like that. Let's get this started.
The owner of this NFT will receive full copyrights to VAIL and the original .trelby file for the script with the latest version of Trelby (a free, open-source screenwriting software) to view and edit the script with. Copyright is given on the terms that the author and creator of VAIL will receive 6% in royalties of every work made of VAIL and 4% in royalties of every derivative work made of VAIL. By purchasing this NFT you agree to these terms.
