It was assigned the provisional designation 1932 EA1 and named for Cupid, also known as "Amor" in Latin, the Roman equivalent of the Greek god Eros.
It is a S-type asteroid which is basically mean the spectral type.
Asteroids of Amor's group are pretty far away from Earth and mostly they hang out around Mars, that's why we have right behind our main character.
