'Deep Psyche Exhibit X' is a color drawing made by Gordon Raphael in Hollywood, during the year 1990. This trip to Los Angeles was a very important step, as it represented the first years in Gordon's adult life that he was "free of drugs" as he likes to put it. The subject matter in this drawing is a multi-dimensional view of humankind's evolution and the world of art. He was heavily reading Aleister Crowley, The Book of Thoth and Mauni Sadhu's The Tarot 'Deep Psyche Exhibit X' inspired 'Deep Psyche' a song written by Gordon Raphael in his Chateau Relaxo studio near New York's Chinatown in 1999. This basement studio was located in the exact building at 56 Ludlow Street in which The Velvet Underground were formed and their early songs were written.
