A tribute to Ham, the first chimpanzee in space. Ham was the first non-human hominid in space. On January 31, 1961, Ham flew a suborbital flight on the Mercury-Redstone 2 mission, part of Project Mercury. His flight was 16 minutes and 39 seconds long. His only physical injury was a bruised nose.
