This piece was captured just outside of Chicago of a car crash. Luckily, the driver had escaped unscathed but the scene was still captivating to have me hanging out a car window going 70 mph to snap this shot. A lot of my pieces have meaning before they are even made, but this piece found meaning after I finished editing. Looking back on my life before sobriety is like looking back on a burning car wreck I’d just barely escaped alive, and I think I really resonated with this piece for that reason. I think art should be a direct reflection of the artist, and this is definitely a visual representation of the life I used to live.
