I enjoy the challenge of creating emotion in portraits that are taken from behind. There are certain elements that have to be happening for this to be successful for me
I was drawn to the mans two-toned hair color and how the wind threw pieces to the wayside
Aesthetically I found it beautiful that his shoulders were squared and how that managed to fill and exist in the frame. It gives a feeling of confidence in his stance
For me this image is about a young man looking forward to a city of opportunity
For others it may mean something different and that's the beauty of art.
It doesn’t have to be about my meaning. In fact when I shot this I didn’t know the meaning yet. I just felt something, clicked the shutter and sometimes that's just how it goes
Meaning determined later or up for interpretation is always fine by me
