This work is a reflection on the fragile state of peace in our time — a peace that is not free, not flying, but blindfolded, caged, and ornamental. The dove, once a symbol of hope, now sits in confinement — silenced, unable to see, unable to soar - holding an olive branch no one reaches for.
As wars unfold in Gaza, Ukraine, Syria, Iran and countless forgotten places, the image speaks to a world where peace is often paraded in speeches but imprisoned in reality. The golden cage is not just physical — it is political, economic, and systemic. It glitters, but it restrains.
The blindfold represents the intentional ignorance of power, and the olive branch becomes a muted gesture in a world where ceasefires are broken, and civilians are collateral. This is not a peaceful time — this is a time where peace is bound, gagged, and put on display.
Inspired by Persian visual traditions and global sorrow, "Bound Peace" mourns the loss of genuine justice and questions our tolerance for its absence.
