Eldrin The Minor, distant relative of "The Monarch" , is traveling through the Forsaken Lands in search of his kin. The Kingdom of The Monarch and Eldrin has been under great peril to be extinguished by the she-devils from Hell. He has come to see if The Monarch has been able to procure reinforcements or been able to hire mercenaries.
Last time he heard from his cousin, The Monarch, was close to a year ago Eldrin guesses, and since that last letter, the communication and mail routes had been destroyed, so there was no way to know what had happened with him.
He passes The Pyre in the Southern Plains of The Druid en route to The Primordial Lands, the last place The Monarch revealed he had traveled to in his last letter.
"Good Heavens, whatever is burning over there sure stinks!" Eldrin exclaims.
In the distance, Eldrin sees a man who has the face of a skeleton devil. His skin looks burnt to a cinder,. Unsure if Eldrin has been spotted by the man, as he seemed dazed, Eldrin moves swiftly towards higher brush at the edge of a nearby forest.
Eldrin The Minor becomes alarmed when he hears a primal scream emanating from the devil-man in the distance, as both of his eye sockets become illuminated and a single, white butterfly zoom flutters out of his mouth headed right for Eldrin's direction. Although his eyes remain glowing, they seem affixed on the butterfly which is beginning to probe the immediate area by hovering around different areas in the landscape.
As Eldrin lays low in the brush, he sees that the butterfly has begun to flutter and float higher in the sky, seemingly trying to "scan". As it hovers closer to Eldrin, the white butterfly glows brighter. It seems it has located Eldrin!
The devil-man howls a blood-curdling scream again and dashes towards Eldrin at the same speed as his scream. Slashing him once across the chest, and then decapitating Eldrin, in another swift move, Eldrin does not even have the chance to scream until he notices that his head is no longer on his shoulders. The head is falling through the air towards the ground. As Eldrin attempts to scream, he realizes he cannot because his windpipes and throat have been completely severed from the rest of his head.
As the head rolls over the now bloodied, grassy plain, Eldrin sees his decapitated body fall on its knees and slump. As the mind of Eldrin loses consciousness and dies, he sees the sight of Astaroth The Horned Devil once again. However, in the evening sun, the heat waves distort the image of Astaroth, revealing to Eldrin, the sight of his cousin The Monarch.
