TEST is the first asset created for the Counterparty blockchain, and together with colored coins, one of the earliest example of a tokenized asset in a decentralized ledger. The creation date was Jan 13th 2014. It served no particular use other than to demonstrate the feasibility of transmitting tokenized value through OP_RETURN transactions, predating Ethereum and the adoption of non fungible tokens (NFTs).
