This is how my drone got the battle scars, i had this shot in my mind since the first day of the eruption and i knew it would be risky to capture. A new fissure opened up one day forming a small crater, i hiked in the daytime and reached the eruption site in the dusk. I decided that this was the moment i would fly through the lava risking my drone, it made it through but hit some pieces of lava, fortunately i was able to fly it back and get the footage, but the drone had to be replaced.
