Seth Moniz, from Hawaii on the wave of the day out at Huzzas. Seth and his brother Josh were the catalyst for my entrance into surf photography. I was sitting fairly out of my comfort zone in the first week of a Masters of Architecture Degree when I was asked to shoot for Surfer Magazine at short notice, My desire to be close to the ocean won, I accepted the job and was able to do well and everyone was very Happy. Within 3 months I was looking at the cover of Surfer Magazine Big Issue of Jay Davies, also in this collection, from out here. I wanted to be by the ocean, so deferred study but took everything I learned from the first degree, into my photography ive continued this study with your help, every possibility this image doesnt exist without it.
Seth (and Josh) are from a famous Hawaiian surfing lineage, The Moniz Family, super down to earth and its been great to watch Seth compete on the wold tour and catch up with him each time he is in town, Its possible that I would not have gone down this path without the universe's interception in the form of Seth Moniz so Im very grateful to you both that I could capture this image today.
