One of my favorite moments. Fresh out of a psychedelic experience, I wanted to find a way to captures the colorful geometric shapes I was seeing while under the influence. I decided to set up a test shoot with my friend Emma at Ocean Beach. I had an array of different colored gels and wanted to see what it would look like if I overlaid them in my photos. To achieve this, I had to set my focus first and then use one hand to hold the camera and the other to overlay the gels on the left side. While shooting, I had no idea what these images would look like, but I trusted my instincts. This moment made me embrace the importance of experimentation and just going out and trying something new. The final results exceeded my expectations and gave me that extra nudge of confidence in myself.
