Channing Jude, a veteran activist of the Universal Primate Captivity Crisis movement at Whistler College of Medicine of Polaris, has been on several primate retrieval operations in the 12 years since earning their Applied Science Doctorate. A child of the Zealot caste of Apskellion Space Apes, Channing was left behind in a conflict with the Doctors and was taken into their care and raised as one of their own, but waits for the day that they can break free and return to their own people. Now, with the fate of the Earth primates in the balance, Channing has vowed to do what can be done to save them from their imprisonment.
