Somehow the wejji seem to have secured most of the health and safety inspection jobs on Zelk, especially in the mines. Everyone knows mining can be a dangerous job but the wejji do their best to keep it as safe as possible. They check pit props, roof supports, lift cables, you name it, the list is endless. The kapronus who own most of the mines have, allegedly, been known to pay the wejji to remove a few props and let the odd tunnel roof collapse, thus sealing off the kaponite seams, making kaponite more rare and expensive. The wejji may be open to a bribe or two but make sure the destruction only happens outside of work hours, so no one gets hurt.
