<p>Leo X 1513-1521 was a man devoted to the pleasures of the flesh. At his dinner parties he would regularly serve a large cake, out of which came little naked boys. He was also a pioneer in the token scam. To acquire huge sums of money for his outrageous expenses, he encouraged the sale of ‘Indulgence’ tokens, which promised mortal sinners relief from eternal punishment.</p>
