"Creating a system for creating a piece of art on a daily basis may seem intense and constraining. But for me the truth is that I find such a system liberating. When condensing the time of creation into short bursts a different type of expression, a micro-expression if you will, emerges. In this particular piece the generic quality of the digital brushes that emulate real life brushes are combined with the generic sparkles to create something new that feels very spontaneous. The simulated airbrush marks are drawn in such a way to both amplify their generic qualities while at the same time emphasising something about the loose and unpredictable quality of something being drawn by hand."
