The traveler had been walking for days, and was getting tired. He decided to take a break in a small clearing. He sat down and leaned against a tree, and soon fell asleep.
Suddenly, he was awoken by a loud screeching. He opened his eyes to see a large owl hovering above him. The owl stared at him for a moment, before swooping down and picking him up in its talons.
The traveler screamed as he was carried away into the night.
The owl flew for hours, until it finally reached its destination: a massive tree in the middle of a dense forest. The owl flew into a hole in the tree, and the traveler found himself in a small, dark room.
The owl dropped him onto the floor, and the traveler slowly got to his feet. He looked around, trying to see something, anything, in the darkness.
Suddenly, a light appeared in the room, and the traveler saw a hawk sitting on a perch. The hawk stared at him for a moment, before speaking.
"Welcome, traveler," the hawk said. "You are in the home of the owls and hawks. We have been watching you for some time, and we have seen the goodness in your heart.
"You are a kind soul, and you have a good heart. We have decided to help you on your journey.
"There is a dangerous forest ahead of you, full of creatures that would do you harm. But do not worry, for we will be with you.
"We will help you through the forest, and to the other side."
